Objection to Promotional Emails

Legal Basis for Data Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  1. Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — the data subject has given consent.
  2. Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing is necessary for contract performance or pre-contractual steps.
  3. Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR — processing is necessary for compliance with legal obligations.
  4. Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR — explicit consent for transfers of data to third countries (after being informed of risks).

Retention Period

If no specific retention period is given, personal data will be kept as long as the purpose of processing requires. If you request deletion or revoke consent, we will erase your data unless there are legal reasons (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods). In such case, we delete data once those reasons expire.

Storage Duration

Unless a specific storage duration is mentioned within this privacy policy, your personal data will be retained by us until the purpose for data processing ceases. If you make a legitimate deletion request or revoke consent for data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g., tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will occur upon the expiration of these reasons.

  1. Purpose & nature: The data you enter is stored to enable individual communication. A valid email address and name are necessary; other fields are optional.
  2. Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), or if you request a quote, pre-contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  3. Data categories: Name, email, phone, message content.
  4. Recipients: Internal staff or processors.
  5. Storage period: Up to 6 months after handling the request unless a contract arises, then legal retention periods apply.
  6. Voluntariness: You may refuse to provide data, but we cannot process your request without name, email, reason.
  7. Third-country transfer: None, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  8. Withdrawal: You can revoke consent at any time.
  9. Profiling / automated decision-making: We do not perform automated decisions or profiling here.

Inquiries via Email or Phone

  1. Similar rules apply: name, inquiry, contact data stored to respond.
  2. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) if contract-related, else Art. 6(1)(f) or (a) if consent.
  3. Data is retained until deletion request or purpose lapse, subject to legal retention obligations.

We host on third-party servers. Use is based on Art. 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in reliable website provision. If cookies or device access require consent, Art. 6(1)(a) applies. Consent can be revoked.

Cloudflare (or CDN / security services)

We may use Cloudflare or similar for CDN, DNS, DDoS protection.
Traffic passes through their network; they may analyze traffic and set cookies/tech to identify users (for security).

Use based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)); if they are outside EU, data transfer based on SCCs.

Google Analytics & other analytics tools

If used, we use Google Analytics (or similar) to analyze website traffic.

  1. IP anonymization is enabled.
  2. Data are processed by Google Ireland (and possibly in U.S. under SCCs).
  3. Retention periods (e.g. 14 months).
  4. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  5. You can withdraw consent anytime.

Google Fonts

Fonts loaded from Google servers; your IP may be transferred to Google.
Legal basis: consent or legitimate interest depending on setup.
We include safeguards and inform users.

Google Tag Manager

Used to integrate tags; itself does not collect personal data.
Tags inside it obey consent settings.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for tag-based tracking.

Gravatar (if used)

If the website uses Gravatar (avatars linked to email):

  1. Data processed by Automattic Inc. (USA)
  2. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a))
  3. You may revoke consent; data kept only while consent valid.

Applicants / Recruitment

  1. We process application data (CV, contact, interview notes) to evaluate suitability.
  2. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) (negotiation/employment) and, if provided, consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  3. Sensitive data (e.g. health) only with explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(b)).
  4. If application unsuccessful, data retained max 6 months (for legal defense).
  5. If consent given to retain for future opportunities, stored until withdrawal or max 2 years.

Social Media / Online Presence

  1. We maintain social media profiles and may embed content (e.g. share buttons).
  2. These might trigger data processing by the social platforms (cookies, IP address).
  3. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) and where needed, consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  4. You may exercise rights both vis-à-vis us and vis-à-vis the social platform.

Data Security

We apply technical and organisational measures (encryption, access control, firewalls) to protect personal data.

However, absolute security cannot be guaranteed — especially for data transmitted by email or over the internet.
